SYNCbits servers suffered a few hours outage on 5-6 Nov 2018.
Is my data safe?
Yes. We have investigated the problem and see that it was purely technical and no suspicious activity was detected. We have no evidence or suspicion that any data was exposed.
Do I need to change my password?
There is no need to change any of your credentials.
What is the current status of this issue?
The issue is now fixed and all SYNCbits servers are running smoothly once again.
The issue was because a deprecated module failed to update and reboot as Google Cloud had an outage as well. If it weren't for Google Cloud outage, the module would have correctly updated itself with no downtime. So really, it was just bad timing.
How am I affected?
If you launched MoneyWiz during the downtime, you might have seen a message that your password was changed and that you've been signed out. Your data would disappear but if you did not remove MoneyWiz from your device, it's still stored in your local database file.
Don't worry - this is a standard message when MoneyWiz cannot access your SYNCbits account. Given the situation, your password remains the same. Just sign back into your SYNCbits account and you're good to go! Not sure how to do this?
But I don't remember my password!
